Blood Cleanser Phase III
Blood Cleanser Phase III
Research:
Plantain:
During the fifteen hundreds and sixteen hundreds plantain was listed as one of the nine sacred herbs in the ancient Lacnunga, a collection of Anglo-Saxon medical texts.
It was used for many different health concerns by many cultures throughout the world.
The Native Americans believed that it cleansed the digestive tract.
There are many studies of plantain, suggesting that unripe plantain may have potential benefits in supporting healthy kidney and liver function. Further research is needed to fully understand its effects.
Burdock Root:
In traditional herbal texts, burdock root is described as a “blood purifier” or “alterative” and was believed assist in cleansing the bloodstream and supporting filtering organs like the kidney and liver.
In the book; Prescription for Nutritional Healing by Phyllis A. Balch, CNC and James F. Balch, M.D. Burdock Root is described as a: "powerful antioxidant, capable of scavenging hydrogen peroxide and superoxide radicals. It also showed a scavenging effect against hydroxyl." They continue by stating that Burdock "aids elimination of excess fluid, uric acid and toxins." Burdock is also traditionally used to promote healthy liver and gall bladder function.
Red Clover:
As with alfalfa, Red Clover sends its roots far into the ground. This makes it possible for it to draw upon an abundance of minerals. Due to its high content of several important nutrients, including vitamins and minerals, it has become a dependable nutritive supplement.
Herbalists believed that red clover "purified" the blood by acting as a diuretic (helping the body get rid of excess fluid) and as an expectorant (helping clear mucus) and promoting healthy liver function.
Chaparral:
- Historically, Native Americans made tea from the leaves of this plant as part of their traditional practices to support overall health.
- Chaparral is a very viable and useful herb with plenty of bitter compounds to assist in the blood cleansing process.
- The leaves contain nordihydroguaiaretic acid (NDGA), a compound with antioxidant properties. NDGA is being studied for its potential support of overall health and well-being, though further research is needed to fully understand its role in supporting health.
- Chaparral contains several different lignans and flavonoids that are being studied for their potential role in supporting the immune system.
